Select Program Interest Form-2026
The Select Program was established to provide an additional opportunity for players who wish to improve their softball skills beyond the regular league season, but who have not yet reached the Junior Olympic “A” Classification skill level (travel ball). This program is for 8U through 14U players who wish to improve and showcase their softball skills and thereby benefit themselves as well as their league. The Select Program will be in effect January 1st through April 6th of the current season.
Seaside of Oxnard requires this “Letter of Intent” be signed by a parent or guardian for any player who is interested in Select Season Play. Please fill out this form no later than Jan 10th, 2026. Team selections are Jan 5th–Jan 10th.
Team roster is fluid, meaning players may be added in-season. Teams will have *one team meeting per week (Sundays), which will not interfere with Rec Ball activities. Scrimmages and games will be against other USA sanctioned teams. This letter in no way guarantees your child will be nominated or selected to a Select team, it simply guarantees a player will be considered for Select Season play. Because there is a significant time & financial commitment, we ask that you closely review the information below.
Estimated cost for the Select Program is $200-$400 per player (this estimate does not include travel, gas, food and possible lodging). Players signing this letter and who do not fulfill their commitment once selected, run the risk of forfeiting their eligibility for the 2025 All-Star season. (Failure of any of our Select teams to fulfill their commitment, once signed up to play in a USA Select tournament, places the entire league’s eligibility to play in All Stars in jeopardy.) Like All Stars, the Select Program is competitive, meaning there is no guarantee of playing time and or desired positions. Some participants may be deemed part of the practice squad, which means they may not be called to play in the friendlies or tournaments.
If selected onto a team, expect your child to practice every Sunday starting on January 11th and ending on April 5th of this year (2026). If you have any family or business plans that will keep you from participating with the team on those given days and or the Western District Select Tournaments, please disclose that information at the evaluation or here on this form.
Select Team Player Selection will be conducted as followed: Designated Coach(es) & Division Player Agent(s) will help evaluate players. Player evaluation, and Spring and Fall season performance will be used as criteria in selecting players/teams. (Team roster is submitted for Board approval.)
Dates to consider: Note, dates and locations are subject to change.
